Outworlds
The outworld is a room you link on.
Why a separate room
Food and trash stay out of the nest. The nest stays damp and dark, and you feed through the outworld lid instead of opening the nest.
Trailhead and both Frontiers have Click Stop slide-in lids. Both Frontiers also have a lid feeding port closed with a Port Plug or Vent Plug.
Trailhead
Trailhead, $28, opens with the December lineup. Its low port accepts either Scout directly on the table without a Riser. Four standard-height ports let it become a hub between nests.
Use it as a small feeding area or junction for one colony. Close every spare port with a Port Plug or Vent Plug.
Frontier S
The Frontier S, $34 (coming January 1), is sized to pair with the Founder. See its current box list and add the Links and closures your setup needs.
Frontier L
The Frontier L, $52 (coming January 1), is sized to pair with the Homestead. See the box list and add connection parts separately.
Both sizes are on the same shop page.
Same port height
Both Frontiers have their ports at the same height as the Founder, Homestead and Four Corners. They join straight across on a flat surface.
The Scout sits lower, so it uses a Scout Riser. The moving guide shows the join.
Close every opening
Any port you do not use needs a plug. Do not leave an opening that ants can walk out of. Check each port before you add ants.
When to add one
Not on day one. Start with the tube and the Scout, then add a nest, then an outworld. The size guide shows the order.
